At Wrekin College nothing is more important than the health, safety, and of our pupils. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our students. We believe that all pupils have a right to feel safe and protected from harm. We work hard to ensure that our school is a safe and welcoming place for children to learn and develop. Our policies and procedures are designed to provide a secure environment, and all our staff, governors, and volunteers are trained to recognise and respond to child protection concerns. |

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means:
Child protection is a part of safeguarding and focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. This includes procedures for identifying and reporting concerns.

If something is worrying you, making you feel sad, or you feel unsafe, it is always right to tell someone. You can talk to any trusted adult in school, such as your teacher, a teaching assistant, or any member of our safeguarding team. They will listen to you and help you.
Parents and carers are essential partners in keeping our children safe. If you have any concerns about your child or another child, please speak to our safeguarding team.
